Procedentes de Orange County, de donde han salido bandas de repercusión internacional como The Offspring o Bleeding Through, Throwdown es una banda de hardcore/metal. Cruda, potente, guiados por la garganta de Dave Peters y la pegada del batería Ben Dussault.
La banda recupera el espíritu de Pantera, y también el de Machine Head, practicando un metal inspirado en el de mediados de los noventa pero con sonido actual, salpicado de hardcore y street punk.
